The fall always feels like back to school to me, so I tend to tackle the big jobs. With that in mind, this month I have more of an administrative task than a newsletter for you. We need to make some changes to the bylaws and send out a note on invoicing.
The first bylaw change will allow us to automatically approve membership, rather than waiting on a board vote. We’ve talked about this for years and (barring the occasional application from a man) we don’t ever have any issues, so the plan there is to approve new members at application and give the board the opportunity to revoke membership if qualifications aren’t met.
The second change is for our Community Health Giving Circle. With the increase in membership fees, we find ourselves with a little more ability to give back to the community, and so we would like to make a change allowing $5 of every member’s annual member dues to be added to the giving circle’s grant total.
Look at the changes we’ve made in the document HERE - the membership will vote on those in November.
If you’d like to learn more about the giving circle you can reach out to Jill, and if you’d like to participate in new member recruitment you can reach out to Ava.
And before I leave you, a quick note from our treasurers. If you request an invoice for payment by your firm, the e-mail you receive is your invoice. We have had some confusion with members waiting for something with an attachment. If you feel you are missing an invoice, please reach out to Tammy or Macy for clarification.
Happy fall!
Sarah
