A Final Message from Your President
What an incredible journey this has been. Serving as your President for Illinois Women in Leadership has been one of the greatest honors of my professional life, and as I step into this final message, my heart is full of gratitude. None of what we accomplished this year would have been possible without the dedication of an extraordinary board and the enthusiasm of our remarkable members. You showed up, leaned in, and reminded me every single day why this organization matters.
This year, I am especially proud of what we built together. We launched new programming and events that brought fresh energy and fresh faces into our IWIL community. We grew our membership, welcoming women who are ready to lead,
connect, and inspire. And we unveiled a refreshed website that reflects the vibrant, forward-thinking organization we truly are. These aren't just checkboxes — they are proof of what happens when passionate women work toward a shared purpose.
As I pass the torch, my greatest wish for Illinois Women in Leadership is simple: stay connected to one another. The programs will evolve, the events will change, and leadership will shift — but the sisterhood we have built is the heartbeat of this organization. Lean on each other, champion each other, and never underestimate the power of a room full of women who are rooting for each other's success.
It has been my absolute privilege. Thank you for trusting me to lead, for inspiring me to
grow, and for making this year one I will never forget.
With gratitude and admiration,
Debbie Thompson
